Free octopus sewing pattern
This is an easy peasy octopus sewing pattern made by myself so feel free to use it but do not sell it.
And if you use this pattern to make octopus plushies for sale then please give credit to TheCraftyButtonUK or this blog.
This sewing pattern is brilliant for beginners ,doesn't take long to make and the result is cute as it can be.
Instructions:
- First you cut out the patterns leaving seam allowance, 1 bottom and 4 bodies . You can use same colour for all the pieces but if you want the design of your octopus to look more eye-catching then you can cut the bottom piece out of other colour than the body pieces.
- We start sewing by putting together the body pieces. Sew them all 4 together on the marked lines. Don't sew the legs as well, just the bodies!
- When you're done sewing all the bodies together ,attach the bottom piece to the bodies but don't sew it shut. Turn your octopus inside-out through the gap you left.
- Once you turned it inside-out, stuff it with hollow fibres (pillow stuffing or anything you have handy) and sew it shut once its fully stuffed
- Add all the details you want by glueing them, eyes, mouth, bows, hats, anything you want
And you're done !
Here's the first octopus I made thanks to this pattern!
This octopus's name is Penelope and I think its obvious why. I love Penelope Garcia ( Kirsten Vangsness), the lovely and quirky IT technician for Criminal Minds. So with her in mind I made this octopus plushie!

Free Zebra doll pattern
I've been meaning for ages to make some time and start blogging again but between the hassle of listing items on Etsy ,creating things, updating Facebook and Twitter and selling i just ..dint got the time.
About a month ago I made this zebra doll that I totally love and named her Zee. I know, not very original. But you would think people would realize she's a zebra since i named her Zee but Nooo, everybody keeps calling her a moo cow. Anywaaaaaaay. I was so satisfied with the result that I decided to share the sewing pattern with all of you.
You're free to replicate it as much as you want and if you're going to attempt making a similar one I would loooove to see your versions so please give me a shout! And I would really appreciate it if you would give me credit for the pattern in case you're making one or more for selling.
I would've loved to make a whole tutorial, pictures and other instructions but I just didn't had the time. I hope the sewing pattern and the picture of Zee I'm going to post it'll be clear enough to help you create one .
Here's the sewing pattern . As for eyes you can use 2 black buttons, I made my own, using polymer clay.

Free Owl Pattern
To download this pattern just click on the image and open it. after that - right click - save as. |
So.. last week I decided to make an owl garland and I had to sew no more or less than 14 owls. Sewing the fabric was a pain in the ass but it was all worth it in the end. I have never made a tutorial before ..I tried! But I have never finished one. The main reason is that I always forget taking pictures of all the steps. So I decided instead of a tutorial I'll make a pattern. Maybe some of you will find this useful. Its my first pattern ever made so its not that brilliant or detailed but in all honesty it was meant to be an easy one..giving that I had to make 14 of them :))
Tools needed :
- Printer or tracing paper
- Scissors
- Sewing machine or a needle if you're sewing it by hand
Materials needed :
- Fabric or felt
- Stuffing
- Threads
Instructions :
- Trace the shapes on fabric or felt .
- Cut the out of the fabric or felt
- Attach the inner eye to the outer eye
- Pin the eyes to the face.
- Sew the beak onto the owls face
- Place the owls back onto its face and pin the 2 together
- Pin the pieces together leaving an opening for the stuffing
- Sew the owl
- Turn the owl right side out.
- Fill the owl with stuffing
- Stitch the owl shut .
And ..DONE
